Hello friends in TN,

During my short presence here in TN, I have leaned many new things, not just about naming the pictures posted here but more about the friendly people here who are serious about their work.

I have posted a picture of this turkey in a different post to TL because I was wondering if this bird is appropriate to be here. I do feel they have been domesticated but not caged. A critique from one of TN members (eqshannon) encouraged me to post one here for us to share. So here is another shot with this turkey roaming freely by the rice field looking for food. This is a rare sight in my village nowadays. A common sight when I was very much younger. I remembered very well how these birds were chasing me making a very loud clucking sound when I was back from school, with the knapsack on my back.

Thank you all.

Jusni

Jusni, I think this turkey is quite appropriate and nicely shown. Your point of view is right, catching the bird's eye. You've positioned the bird well within the frame, and the detail is clear. The cropping is generally good, though a bit tight on the left and at the bottom -- I would allow a little more room between the edge of the frame and the tail feathers; and watch out to make sure you don't cut off the feet. Good work overall, and thanks for sharing.

Hello Jusni,
A fine capture of this great species, I can see how a young man could be frightened by them as they are large and can be aggressive. Your image is very well detailed and the colors are great. Thank you for sharig this wonderful image and your memories.

Hi Jusni,

A nice shot of this turkey in the tall grass. I like the look in his eye - doesn't look too pleased to see you. From your notes I can just picture him chasing schoolboys on their way home. That would make a good shot!

Hello Jusni
Very good and interesting capture of this haughty and beautiful turkey. I have smiled thinking of you running with your knapsack before them. I would have made the same ;)

Hi Jusni, I like this picture because, first of all, it is a free turkey, a sight we NEVER but never have here. The only ones I usually see are frozen and totally naked, just before Christmas. I can imagine you as a kid running away from them with their strange neck flapping... I love those free turkey, that's the way to go. And, I like this picture because it is well shot, very nicely exposed with the sunshine and the herbs make an original background, doesn't need to be blurred. Very well seen in all its simplicity. Thank you!

Francine

Hi Jusni,

Good to see this shot here too.
Excellent image with fine tones and lights.
Thank you for the share, and thanks to Bob for making you post here too.
All the best.

Cool looking cobbler Jusni, it looks great in this field of grass.
Nicely composed with great color, exposure, DOF, POV, and good details :)
I would've shot faster with a smaller aperture, that's just me..
Well done,
Howard

Hello Jusni,
It is nice to see a turkey with a natural shape and not the overfed specimen we see around Christmas!
By the way, this guy looks like he still is intended to chase you away hehehe...
Well composed with good details!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Jusni.
Very pictorial picture of the beautiful bird and excellent reproduction of the scenery. I welcome wide DOF and sharpness of the grass around the bird. It is better than blurred BG and sharp spot near bird. Excellent sunlight and colours. Very natural and pleasant for look shot. My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.

Hi,
Thanks this great photo from Turkey.
Hoscakal.

Hi Jusni, do you celebrate Thanksgiving in Malaysia. That and Christmas are big events in the lives of Turkeys in North America. Of course they're not happy events for them.

I like this shot, you have this guy in a great natural setting, with excellent colour. The bird itself shows excellent detail with very good colour. I like his pose too, sticking his head up over the blades of grass. Nice shot.

Thanks, John

Salam Jus,
is it a turkey ? ayam belanda ?or ayam peru?
Great names of countries in the world is given to this creature.
Whatever it is , the shot is lovely with the rice field in the BG and the grasses on the FG.
Nice compo.
