Hello friends in TN,

The Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) is a small white heron. It is the only member of the monotypic genus Bubulcus.

I have posted a flock of heron ( I believe they are) before and here is one closer look at the bird. I manage to catch one on the rain tree near my house yesterday. There were actually a flock of them resting there but I have singled out one for the post.

Regards,

Jusni

Hello Jusni,
Well-timed capture of this Cattle Egret up in a tree. It looks as if it is just about to fly off! I like it with the wings spread out. Usually I've seen it on the ground. Fine details and I like the POV. Well done!
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Jusni
Wonderful timing for this scene :O)
Perfect details,BG and composition,Welldone.

Nice capture with a great pose. Just a technicality - a white Heron is a different species than the Cattle Egret, so the title might be a bit misleading.
Good one!
Cheers, Klaus

hello Jusni

this is a superb shot i love the POV of your image
and the way you framed the egret on the image

one thing Jusni, i went to see in Photoshop and in my Mac's screen
the highlights are overburned (i have 0% of dot) and the shadows
too are overburned (i have 98% of dot), you can fix this
by the Levels (auto level) (you already saw in my workshops
how i set the highlight and shadow points of Levels)

but in this case i prefere to fix it by the CURVES,
in the curve of Curves you click to the mid-tones
to lock them and then you can go and play with highlights part
of the curves to pass from 0% to 5 to 10% of dot,
and play with the shadows part of the the curves
to pass from 98% to 95 to 90% of dot

What vivid blue filled in by the white bird. A pop out picture Jusni...I see you really enjoy imaging your area for the rest of the world. And I can also see how proud it makes you and in doing so educates all of us! Very nicely done.

Hi Jusni,

A beautiful capture - the pose in the tree is wonderful. I love the bent legs and the flapping wings. The white Egret against that blue sky is stunning. Even the details of the pods are sharp.

Hi Jusni

You've caught it while it was getting ready for a take-off Jusni, good timing my friend, your exposure was good too, the white areas are not too bright. Altogether a good composition.
Mehmet

La forma y los colores me recuerdan algún tipo (no se cual, solo es mi idea) de arte Oriental.
No es una de tus mejores tomas pero veo un interesante tratamiento de la luz y del color.

Living among the Cattle Egrets is a touch of life that must be fantastic. How come I missed all those pictures of yours? This is a great one with a perfect blue skies and very strange beans in the tree. I am not familiar with Malaysian flora and when you think of it, maybe you could tell us! It would help to get to know your fantastic country and where you live. Great action shot Jusni, wonderful bird and sharpness fantastic. Thank you!

Francine

Hi Jusni, I've seen Cattle Egrets on Cattle, and on the ground, but never in a tree, and I still have to catch one myself. This composition is excellent. Having him in the tree like this I think is unique, but having him just about to take off was just perfect timing on your part. The colour in this shot is beautiful. I love that clear blue sky. I found the sky though just a tad noisy, and on the exposure side, you were just on the edge with your highlights. I had to play with this one, so I've prepared a workshop to look at a couple of other options for you.

Thanks, John

Salam Jusni,
this a greayt effort and it should go unnoticed. It is not that easy to have this typw of shot. You must have walked very quietly and pretending to be one of the trees in the bushes. Even with that you stil scare them.
This is anice one, well composed and processed. I like the blue sky Bg and the dark branches that crreat a stunning effect on the egret to be noticed and seen specifically.
Wonderful shot, thanks for sharing. I believe your house is a sanctuary for plenty of birds and butterflies.

Regards,
Foozi
