Hello friends in TN,

I am posting another hamiptera perching on a small plant.

Hemiptera is an order of insects, comprising around 80,000 species of cicadas, aphids, planthoppers, leafhoppers, shield bugs, and others, collectively known as the true bugs. They range in size from 1 mm to around 15 cm, and share a common arrangement of sucking mouthparts.

The defining feature of hemipterans is their possession of mouthparts where the mandibles and maxillae have evolved into a proboscis, sheathed within a modified labium to form a "beak" or "rostrum" which is capable of piercing tissues (usually plant tissues) and sucking out the liquids — typically sap.

Thanks for viewing.

Hi Jusni, your focus on the bug with this depth of field for the most part is very good, and the colour is excellent. I'm struggling though with the composition and your positioning. I think it could have been a little better. The colour plate on the bugs back is good, but I'd really like to see his head. He's turned away from the camera (most uncooperative of him) and has his head buried under that leaf, which takes a little more detail away with the shadow. The shot gives a good view of this bug for ID or collection purposes but he isn't showing any personality here. There’s not a lot we can do about his hiding under the leaf, but if we flip the shot over by 180 degrees, we might position him better in the frame for easier viewing. I’ve prepared a workshop to give this a try.

Thanks, John

Hello Jusni,

Excellent capture of this bug. Perfect composition and sharpness. Splendid colours.
Cheers,
Mariki

Hello Jusni,

Pin sharp details in this fellow!
Unwanted reflections are nicely avoided, and the colours stand out so well...
Nice macro work indeed, the result is presented in a balanced composition with good colour contrast!

Greetings,
