[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I stumbled into this species by accident. I wanted to check my car tyre during a journey. So I stopped by the roadside. After that I saw this water hyacinth about 2 meters in the middle of a crowded padi water canal.
This species is very new to me, and I havent seen it before and not eeven its existence. Im so glad to share this new species here.
I hope you like it, as its colour is so lovely. compared to a single flowering hycinth, this one is a bit smaller and its shape is more rounded.
The Water Hyacinth is a beautiful plant. It has glossy green leaves and lavender blue flowers. The submerged roots are long and hairy and chocolatey brown. They serve as an excellent hiding place and spawning location for many fish.

There are two types that I have seen could be found :
i. Long type - thrive in stagnant watwer
ii. Dwarf type- that thrive in the padi filed.

This one is of the long type.

From Wiki:
The species of water hyacinth comprise the genus Eichhornia. Water hyacinth is a free-floating perennial aquatic plant native to tropical South America. With broad, thick, glossy, ovate leaves, water hyacinth may rise above the surface of the water as much as 1 meter in height. The leaves are 10–20 cm across, and float above the water surface. They have long, spongy and bulbous stalks. The feathery, freely hanging roots are purple-black. An erect stalk supports a single spike of 8-15 conspicuously attractive flowers, mostly lavender to pink in colour with six petals. When not in bloom, water hyacinth may be mistaken for frog's-bit (Limnobium spongia).

One of the fastest growing plants known, water hyacinth reproduces primarily by way of runners or stolons, which eventually form daughter plants. It also produces large quantities of seeds, and these are viable up to thirty years. The common water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is a vigorous grower known to double its population in two weeks.
