Mountain Fulvetta ( Alcippe peracensis)
Size : Average 15 cm. This is a relatively small sized bird in dull colours with prominent blackish lateral crown stripes. This was taken at Fraser’s Hill recently at ISO3200 with fill flash. This is a skittish little bird and I required a higher shutter speed. Once again no noise reducing software used, just Apple Aperture and Photoshop CS to reduce size for web posting.
Exposure details : 1/250 f/5.6 ISO3200 EV+1/3 Flash -3
Habitat : Broadleaved evergreen jungle, jungle edge, secondary growth, scrub and bamboo. 900 – 2100m. |

Hi Phil,
how has this not had critiques yet?!?
Great shot with decent composition, brilliant DOF, superb POV and overall quality.
Well done,
Joey
Hi Phil,
You registered the 'dull' bird colours very well. You have a bit noise but at iso3200 and a bit overexposure, I think this is quite normal.

Hello Phil,
Wonderful photo of this tiny bird. It's sharp with a great compositon, POV and DOF. The BG gives a real jungle-impression.
Regards,
Peter
