| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Grasshoppers are herbivorous insects of the suborder Caelifera in the order Orthoptera. To distinguish them from bush crickets or katydids, they are sometimes referred to as short-horned grasshoppers.
The Orthoptera (from the Greek orthos = "straight" and pteron = "wing") are an order of insects with paurometabolous or incomplete metamorphosis, including the grasshoppers.
Orthopterans have two pairs of wings; the forewings or tegmina are narrower than the hind wings and hardened at the base. They are held overlapping the abdomen at rest.
The hind wing is membranous and held folded fan-like under the forewings when at rest. They have mandibulate mouthparts, large compound eyes, antennae length varies with species. Their saltatorial hind legs are elongated for jumping. |

Ciao Agoes,
complimenti per questa foto!
Mi piace il dettaglio e la nitidezza sul torace e sulle zampe, dove si osservano, perfettamente a fuoco, tutte le spine femorali.
Saluti,
Marcello

Hello Agoes,
Though it was a pity to leave out the antenna tips, you captured this brown grasshopper nymph sharply in a fine close macro. You made good use of the low ambient light and the focusing is exactly where it should be.
Thanks for sharing this one,
Ivan
Assalamualaikum Agoes,
Excellent shot at this hopper. Superb clarity of the texture of the body parts and well lit too. Just wondering why did you leave the tip of the antenna? Stiill excellent with amazing sharpness and details. You macro is moving away from excellent to first call images now - keep shooting.
Regards,
Jusni
Hola Agoes,
