Another view of Kaloula baleata commonly known as Brown Bullfrog in Malaysia. They are squat little frogs with short legs that walk rather than hop about. Ants are their favourite prey, though other small insects are also eaten.
During the rainy season they gather in numbers in ponds and ditches to mate, with the males making unbelievably loud groans and hongs. When we were children we thought these sounds were made by monsters in the swamps and adults warned us about playing in the rain!
