[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Mount Everest is the highest mountain on Earth, when measuring the height of its summit above sea level. Everest's summit ridge marks the border between Nepal and China.Mt. Everest has two main climbing routes, the southeast ridge from Nepal and the northeast ridge from Tibet, as well as 13 other less frequently climbed routes. Of the two main routes, the southeast ridge is technically easier and is the more frequently-used route. It was the route used by Hillary and Tenzing in 1953. This was, however, a route decision dictated more by politics than by design as the Tibetan border was closed to foreigners in 1949.
As of the end of the 2003 climbing season, 1,919 people had reached the summit (829 of them since 1998) and 179 people died while summitting. The conditions on the mountain are so difficult that most of the corpses have been left where they fell; some of them easily visible from the standard climbing routes.
Most expeditions use oxygen masks and tanks ([5]) above 26,000 feet (8,000 m); this region is known as the death zone.

I was Trekking to the base of the everest during the expedition in 2004. On the way we come to place called Periche. This is a lovely place to spend the night after tiring trekking. The was full moon day and we were all inside the lodging from 6pm till 9.30pm, shivering in the cold and infront of the fire warming ourselves. I came out for loo and swa the whole mountain range was lit by the moon and was like faity land! I went and brought my Tripod and camera and set up t take the landscape. I gave 12 minutes long exposure at f-16 to get this picture. I took 2 frames, and could niot stand anymore in the cold breeze. The bright line is the beautiful " Venus".These are the peaks just behind our lodge in Periche.

Wow wow wow is the only word i can say about this picture, your technical expertise in these kind of shots is very well evident, great post , i hope others will see and appreciate it, its a picture which cannot be missed

Pheriche is terribly cold, Satish; I have trekked to the Everest BC thrice and know it. I stayed there on my first visit and avoided it in the next two; Dingboche on the other side of it is much better.
You have got the star streaks in this long exposure very well. The night vision of your camera has given the mountains the touch of moonscape and it looks good to me.

This is a very interesting shot! Very rare motive. The sky is a bit grainy. Have you tried using "smart blur" in CS2 here?
