You photographed this fellow at shutter speed 1/1000 wit a 400 focal length lens and you achieved a very good shot.
Good POV and DOF as well; I like the shadow line on the field.

Outstanding action shot! The action is frozen but it easy to tell that the rabbit was running very fast. Nice eye contact and catchlight. Excellent DOF and great light! We have a rabbit in United States very similiar to yours. We call it an Eastern Cottontail.

sharp action pic. Those are fast. Congrats. Of course the 40D is a nice camera. Still the photographer must be skilled to center it and freaze it like that.
