[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Philippines has several sunbird species. This is one of them. The males have the iridescent blue throat patch. This is one of their favorite flower. The Olive-backed Sunbird is common across southern China to the Philippines and Malaysia down to northeast Australia. They are small songbirds, at most 12cm long. The underparts of both male and female are bright yellow, the backs are a dull brown colour. The forehead, throat and upper breast of the adult male is a dark, metallic blue-black.
Originally from mangrove habitat, the Olive-backed sunbird has adapted well to humans, and is now common even in fairly densely populated areas, even forming their nests in human dwellings (see [1] or [2]) wikipedia

Hi Luis,

I love these little Sunbirds and this is a wonderful capture. The pose on the flower is just great. Beautiful colors and fine details of his head, wings and plummage. It's so hard to get a clear shot of these birds. The background and composition are superb.

The background texture has given this a nice look, it is well shot by composition and focus.

A great shot, Luis.
Sunbirds are so beautiful, and this one is no exception.
Great details and beautiful colors in a lovely setting.
The red flower makes a striking contrast against the green frond BG.
TFS. : )

Excellent art creation, the unique, colorful bird, juxtapositioned with the vibrant red Bird of Paradise against a creamy green background. Congratulations.
