A common dragonfly in the Philippines and can be found in swamp areas in the provinces but not in the city like here in Manila.
This is not as colourful as yours but i tried my best to get closer using my 300mm lens :)
Its tail is blurd due to wiggling action. |

NIce colours Chito, maybe you could do some research to find the name of this one. Curiously it has it's front two legs raised in flying position. As you say, shame the focus was a bit off.
Intresting speciemin Chito, should be good enough for you to get an ident for from the net. the Depth of Field/Focus (DOF)seems a little limited and the stick its perching on is also blurred leads me to believe that the use of F8 or higher would of given you a better result rather than movement by the dragonfly
