this insect is very abundant in our house. but i have no idea what it is. it looks like an ant with a very pretty red body and black legs and head..
im quite baffled with it so id be grateful for any information you might share :)

It's a close relative of the Assassin bug, I think (Heteroptera, family reduviidae). They are insect hunters and usually very good at exterminating house pests, such as bed bugs, for instance...
The photo has a bit too much contrast, and it's a pity you cropped the antenna at the top of the inage.
