Nice image with good sharpness and good DOF.
Good composition.
It's a little overexposure and I think you have to live with it, I tryed to do a WS and use curves and the new tool in PS 8
shadow/highlight but it will not be better.
Well done.
Welcome to TN

Welcome to TN, Chito. Good start with this detailed catch of the butterfly holding on to the flower blossom. Good DOF and colors.
Regarding your question to Leon, what you could try in post-work is use burning or darkening tools/stamps that are available in most image processing software, and apply those on the bright areas. Of course, the better bet is to do the work in the camera already, i.e. step down exposure by 1/3 or 2/3 before shooting.

Very nice capture and I love the yellow patch on the butterfly matching the color of the flower. I would have liked to se a supporting note to this e.g. how it was taken. Good work

Welcome on TN chito,
Very good first photo you sens us,
Good composition, good colours, very good job,
I like it'Only one thing, your note. Can you maybe write something about the butterfly, or about how you took the photo.
Good first post Chito, just a shame the tip of the wing is over-exposed. Other than that the Dof, composition are spot on. More of a note would be a good thing too.

It's a lovely butterfly picture with great seperation from background due to colours and control of depth of field. I think everyone else has pulled out all the other comments.

Chito, Great butterfly shot. I am also into butterflies and know how difficult it is to get good sharpness and DOF. I like that there is little distraction in the shot.
Greetings, Jan
Chito, excellent sharpness and pov here.
The butterfly is very beautiful, as well as the little flower.
I tried a little workshop.

Nice and sharp butterfly and good DOF (but over-exposure in top of wing).
I thinks that this species belongs to Aporia genus.

Nice close up Chito!
Focus is good and DOF is great. I like the composition and the pastel colors.
My only critique would be the burned highlight. Espacially on the wing. Check your original file or the RAW file if you have it. You may be able to correct this.
Nice picture anyway and TFS

Hello Chito,
I think this is Appias libythea olferna (Striped Albatross)
The Striped Albatross gets its name from the male butterfly, which is white with prominent black veins on the underside. The female is dark dusted with yellow wing bases. This species established itself in Malaysia and Singapore about 50 years ago, due to the wildspread abundance of its food plant the Wild Cat's Whisker (Cleome ciliata).
It is a common butterfly which can be found in the urban areas of Singapore. Both the males and females can be seen flying in bright sunshine in HDB estates and even in the midst of downtown traffic.
Males are sometimes observed feeding on damp seepages on roadsides in numbers. The females do not demonstrate such behaviour, preferring to feed on the nectar of flowers.
