Chocolate Hills

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The Chocolate Hills is an unusual geological formation in Bohol, Philippines. It is composed of around 1,268 perfectly cone-shaped hills of about the same size, spread over an area of more than 50 kilometers². They are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season, hence the name.
There is no natural formation like them in the world. From a distance, they look like half a ball grown out of the ground. The molehill-shaped and almost uniformly sized hills dot the landscape with green and brown.
The vegetation of the Chocolate Hills is dominated by hardy grass species.

I got up at dawn to watch the sunrise over the hills. However there was barely no sunrise, because of the clouds. But instead it formed kind of a spooky landscape, don't you think? |

Amazing scene.
Well captured. Good depth of focus throughout the image.

Hi Johannes
The Chocolate Hills are very interesting geological formations, they almost look like some sort of temple that has grown over with vegetation. I wonder what created these large hills. I wish the image was a bit brighter to so more detail and see further in the distance. :)
