Edit: Sorry for wrong note. I thought The right one is also a Silver-washed. I asked my e-group in Turkey and got the answer. The left one is Silver-washed Fritillary and the right small one is Lesser Marbled Fritillary.

Also thanks to Harm and Krzysztof for the correction.

Truly magnificent capture of this handsome couple, Fatih. The subjects are so well placed in relation to each other, it looks like a posed picture :-) Wow!!
You deserve top honours for technical excellence here. The image is sheer magic.
Thanks and take care.

Hello Fatih
The firs butterfly is a male of Argynnis paphia but the second is a different species. I dont know the Nymphalids from Sakhalin but it could be another species of Argynnis or maybe Argyronome or Brenthis.

About the note. The range of A. paphia is waider then Northern and Southern Turkey

I like the photo but it is a little bit to dark

Best wishes
Krzysztof

An excellent composition Fatih, with the insects in focus on a perfect dark backdrop.

I like it a lot: composition, lighting, DOF, focus, POV, sharpness, color, background, framing.

I like it: notes.

I don't like it: nothing

Si Cataclysta tiene razón y son dos especies distintas, un bonus extra para esta imagen.

If Cataclysta is right and they are two different species, an extra bonus for this image.
TFS and greetings... Ricardo

Nice spacy composition with very well exposed whites, good details and very informative note. Great you managed to show upper and lower surface of the wings in one shot.

Hi Fatih,
When looking at the thumbnail I wasn't sure i liked the darkness of the image but upon opening found it very attractive and that it contributes to making the subject stand out.The contrast of natural colours is very complimentary.Good detail and clarity.Well done and TFS.
Regards, David
