This is a Dusky Flutterer (Rhyothemis obsolescens) from the Family Libellulidae taken on a morning walk around the southern edge of McRitchie Reservoir. The species has a wingspan of 60mm and a distribution from China through most of South-east Asia and India. They live on the margins of vegetated freshwater bodies with emergent vegetation and in swamp forest.

Hello Chris,
This is a gorgeous dragonfly with golden wings, a kind we never would see in Europe. Typical pose on a perch, displaying its beautiful wings. Fine and pleasing colors, good sharpness too.
