[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a very beautiful Dawn Dropwing (Trithemis aurora) from the Family Libellulidae taken on a morning walk around the southern edge of McRitchie Reservoir (but I think Magenta dropwing would be a better name). The species has a wingspan of 60mm and a distribution from China through most of South-east Asia and India. They live on the margins of vegetated freshwater bodies with emergent vegetation and lots of open water.

Hello Chris! Wonderful macro, perfect contrast and sharpness, ideal exposure, good colours. Well done!

Hello Chris!
Very beautiful profile capture of Trithemis aurora. Its Latin name clearly corresponds with beauty of its colouration. I like profesional light control and very good sharpness/ DOF. Note is rather short but informative.
TFS and best greetings from the centre of Europe! :>

Hi Chris,
Wowwww that catch! I have never seen such a colorful libelula. Excellent colors, excellent player.
Have a pleasant Saturday,
Adrian

Gracias por tu amable comentario Chris.
Tu especie muy interesante y desconocida para mí, con unas curiosas tonalidades bien plasmadas. Buena luz aunque algo subida en la zona de la planta.
Un saludo desde España: Josep Ignasi.

Hello Chris, personally i would have given more space on the bottom. The beauty's abdomen seem to be full of eggs. The shot is so beautiful and looks straight. Well done Ganesh

Hi Chris,
while I'm dragging up my backyard to find interesting objects you travel the world and meet such extravagant Dragonflies like this one, incredible. As usual with you you did a perfect job in depicting this wonder. Forget the Raffles Hotel, keep looking for more such marvels, Chris!
Best regards from Switzerland

A well-taken shot of this Drop-wing. Great POV,fine sharpness and DOF, great BG and composition, all contributing to a first class image of this spectacular dragonfly. Saw a similar species in the botanical gdns.

Chris,
The complementary colours here works very well whith nice BG and POV. Perfect! TFS,
Francisco

Hi Chris,
Absolutely great photo of this extraordinarily beautiful insect, perfect colors, timing, DOF and POV. There's one thing I might have done somehow else: a classical centered composition would have been the best choice for this scene, although this is just my personal feeling.
Congrats and tfs, best regards, László
