[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a Batik Glider (Rhyothemis phyllis) from the Family Libellulidae taken on a morning walk around the southern edge of McRitchie Reservoir. This is quite a large dragonfly with a wingspan of 80mm. They are often found in groups gently gliding along the edges of reeds in freshwater marshes and wetlands. They are distributed from China through most of South-east Asia to India and south onto the north of the Australian continent, where they are known as the Yellow-striped Glider.
A view of the species from the front can be found in the WORKSHOP.

Hello Chris,
a fine capture of the dragonfly. Usually, I would say that the leaf in the
background is a bit disturbing, But in this case, it supports the geometry and
the composition of the whoel picture.
Best wishes, Peter

Hi Chris,
you did it, you show us some more of the really interesting inhabitants of Singapore, the Dragon flies! Here I am impressed by the perspective from behind. That works very well, it gives the impression that the Dragon fly will take off right away. You got good DOF!
Best regards
Dietrich
