I caught this blue dragonfly, probably Orthetrum ??, in the Botanical Gardens in Singapore last October. Perhaps somebody can help with identification?

I'd like to recommend anyone who happens to pass Singapore to visit the Botanical gardens which is fabulous for all kinds of flora and fauna. It's also got a fabulous large orchid garden. It's very pleasant to stroll around and they have several ponds with plenty of dragonflies. (Put don't forget to take some mosquito repellant!)

We have a very similar species in Sweden and I've seen one in Australia as well.

(The Botanical garden is very central and is not in the list of states so I've just marked anyone!)

NOTE - I'M GRATEFUL TO KEVIN FOR IDENTIFICATION -
THIS IS A Brachydiplax chalybea chalybea.

Hello Ulla,
I like most the color & light here, nice.
Great POV with good detail & DOF. The smooth green of the BG works very well to set-off the color of the dragon also :)
Well done & TFS!

Hallo Ulla,
very nice capture of this dragonfly, which - Ithink - is an Orthetrum-species. Details of wing venation and colours are beautiful.
Perhaps you can identify the species on the following web site: http://www.asia-dragonfly.net/index.php
Best wishes,
Peter

Hi Ulla,
An excellent capture on this dragonfly. The exposure really looks spot on here. The colors are well saturated and look great. Nice sharp detail in the dragon. I sepertation from the nice OOF backround is excellent.
