Thanks to Kevin Seo who correctly pointed out that this species is a Blue Dasher (Brachydiplax chalybea chalybea).
...................................................

There were many dragonflies about over Sungei wetland and this lovely (Brachydiplax farinosa) was one of them.
Well distributed through SE Asia this is a male, the female being a planer browny colour.

Hello Chris!

You travelled so far to see dragonfly which is very similiar to our most common specie ;-) Just joking, my friend! Lovely composition with cross made from insect's body and wings. It is alost shinning. Great work!

Hello Chris,
Nice shot. Sharp and clearly seen. Well composed. TFS

Hi Chris,
it's such a beautiful dragon - and the pose is wonderful. It seems to glitter behind the head, I like it, thanks.
Dragonflies are so interesting - but special this species is very shy. Bye

Hello Chris,
a beautifully composed picture with nice colours, appropriate background and excellent point of view. I feel that sharpness could be a little bit higher (see edges of the leaf and wing venation).
Best wishes, Peter

Brilliant sharp shot of this blue dragonfly. Very nice composition. I've shot the same species in Singapore Botanical Gardens and I presume you're right about the identification which I didn't know. Have a peep at mine!
Thanks and regards, Ulla

Great composition with splendid details Chris. I like the pose the dragonfly has here. Great POV, sharpness, naturual colours and composition. Thank you for posting.

Hello Chris,

Excellent composition with that diagonal presentation of this dragonfly! A little bit noisy (maybe you put too much sharpness on it) but I like the colors. Good job and TFS,

Michel

Nice capture Chris..is the bird bottom left corner chasing this skimmer? ;)
Excellent composition & POV.
Great colors, detail, and exposed well.
Nicely done & TFS!

Nice detail, especially in the wings, good shot.

Greg

Hi Chris,
This species is,
"Brachydiplax chalybea chalybea Brauer, 1868"
or
"Brachydiplax chalybea flavovittata Ris,1911"

( not "Brachydiplax farinosa".
B. farinosa has no brown colours inside wings.)

and "Brachydiplax chalybea chalybea Brauer, 1868"
is recorded in Singapore. So if you get pic from Singapore, then "Brachydiplax chalybea chalybea Brauer, 1868".

Regards,
Kevin
