[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I think this is last of my buffy series from my gallery.

Buffy owls have a very high pitched chirp...

Why do birds yawn?
Yawning may sooth an itchy throat. Maybe they yawn for the same reason we do, because they are sleepy. Or there is a need for oxygen intake. The yawning is most often triggered when one is tired. Yawning is common at night as our bodies prepare for sleep. The presence of foreign materials in the throat may induce yawn-like actions.

There are those who believe that yawning in birds help remove excess heat.

Hi Stephanie,
This is a very sharp and clear image of this buffi!
I like so much the pose and expression catched here.
You got so vivid and intense colors, very contrasting with the green background.
The diagonal composition made works pretty well.
Congratulations and thanks for share.

Hello Steph,
This is a good capture in action, wow! I like the pose, details, exposure and composition even if it miss a little part of its head' feathers. I'm amazed by those sharp details; this is very well done with nice BG and interesting notes. Thanks,
Claudine

bonjour stephanie
le BG aurait merité un traitement mais en revanche l'oiseau lui est parfait.
bravo.

Hola Stephanie,
Un retrato con una composición y detalle excelentes, enhorabuena. Un cordial saludo

I would love to have a chance to photograph this bird. Your colours and sharpness are impressive. I might say that having the left side cropped of the feathers is questionable. Never the less, it is a great photo.

Hi Steph,
You have some great portraits of Buffy in your gallery. This one is excellent, I like the framing/composition, perfect for the way her head is turned. Fantastic colours too, really vivid and saturated but not overdone. Good DOF has defocused the background nicely and good focus on the eyes. If I could change anything, perhaps I'd use an aperture of f/8 to bring her right wing into focus, which would still keep the background defocused. There's nothing wrong with it the way it is, just a different view. A great shot I think, thanks for sharing.

Interesting note too, I think I must have a lot of foreign materials in my throat on Monday mornings :-)
Regards,
Adrian

This bird is so ugly he is cute. LOL I really like this pose. You cought it at a perfect moment to catch his personality. I like the DOF, and the sharpness and color saturation is perfect.
