I'm starting to get use to running around looking at the ground and having on lookers with puzzeled faces scratching their head trying to work out what Im doing. One might think it would be obvious enough that some one with a camera, a foot long lens kit and tripod might be taking photos, maybe?? This grasshopper was in a wooded area up an embankment right beside a car park for a new parkland area. The area was very busy and many people stopped to look at what I was doing from distance. I guess what Im trying to say if you have on lookers they might be distracting but keep shooting they will move on. If the people came up and asked questions I would tried to answer them. However since none did I thought it better to just concentrate on the subject and get the best picture I could.

Thats the end of my rant. Thanks for reading.

I got a new nickname for you, instead of calling you Matt-Bird we should call you Matt-Bugs.

Good job on this closeup. Sweet details and very sharp. What would you do without that macro lens...lol

Hi Matt! Thanks for your comment and points on my lotus blossom. :) I just recently got a macro lens, and am hoping to try to use it on spiders and insects this spring. I've tried it out a little, but with poor results for some reason. Probably, I'm doing something wrong. I've never had photography lessons and have no one to show me how to use the macro lens. Any tips you could give me would really be appreciated. Could you leave them on the lotus blossom photo? Thanks in advance! Oh...I really LOVE this grasshopper! The detail is amazing - I wish I could get that with my dragonflies and bees. Great work!

Privet Matthew.
Good macroshot. Depth of sharpness allows to consider closely the invoice of an insect.

Hi, Matthew.
Great macro. Very sharp. Enough DOF. Nice background.
