Hi Matt

This is a splendid photo of a very interesting animal.
Unfortunately i don't know the name of the species, but i will surely come back later to see if anyone did, for i am indeed very curious.
The shot itself is very beautiful. It looks postprocessed, but not in the bad way. I would say you did a very good job...it doesn't look overexposed at all now.
The details are great, the green tones superb and the composition lovely.
Very well done!

the sharpness ist excellent, the color beautiful and the

it looks like it is some kind of stink- or shieldbug,
but no idea on the ID.

Hi Matthew,
I had to look at it two or three times to see what kind if insect this could be. That didn't help....it looks somewhat like a grasshopper with backpack :)
You did nice work on the light in the picture 'cause it didn't bother me at all, in fact I think it is rather good.

je ne connais pas cet insecte,en tout cas le bg vert le fait bien ressortir.vous auriez peu etre supprimé le bruit mais cela se voit de tres pres.

Very nice picture. The details are very good and sharp. About the bright spots on certain areas, I would say that it's not a problem, on my opinion, because the relection of light seems normal (not a defect) on that kind of texture of the skin of this insect.

I think this is a fantastic shot. Matt, and I am glad you decided to post it. What an amazing looking "grasshopper"!
The details are very sharp and the light seems to be just right now.
I really like the green tones too.
The colors of the insect itself are beautiful.

I wish I could help on the ID, but no such luck. I think the shot is excellent. Perfectly composed and framed. Beautiful colors and sharp detail. I would say a trip thru some noise reduction software would make this a near flawless shot. Very well done!

Maybe I can help you with your concerns.
I know a lot of people call me crazy...but if you use flash most of the time you are looking for trouble.
Take care..the picture here isn't bad at all: nice details, sharp insect,...
I recommend most of the flash users(I'm talking about electronic gear on the camera) the following:
1 take your flash
2 make a good sprint
3 throw it away as far you can...

That said..beautiful insect, good compo, good focus...

Otra excelente macro Matthew con nitidez y trasfondo logrado como puntos fuertes, además de un bello POV y muy buena composición.
