Having fun with your new toys indeed. I think if you focused on the eyes or stop down even more (F22/F32) it would've made the fly more in focus.

Hello Matthew,
This is very close. Fly has great metallic colours and you've showed it well. I think the composition and POV are very good, great colours too. As for the frame, I think white or black ones are the most "safe", but it seems this one suits preety good here.
Overall, very good post.

Hello Matt, good shot. The composition is very strong. I would like the head to be a little more in focus - it's a nice shot - well done. I'm not very keen on coloured frames, I think this would be better with white or black.

Good detail, colours and sharpness. exposure and lighting are good. Good POV. I'd use either a Black or White frame.

As you said, a pity about a head a little soft. Colors and composition are fantastic. Contrast is good.
About the frame, maybe adding a very thin black line inside the frame you did.

Matthw i Have one question; what is your idea about the lens you have and 180mm sigma?
i had the sigma lens but sold it for buying canon! but recently read some review about 180mm Tamron, is it good lens, do you thing which one is better.
