This shot is of a different nest than the previous photo. The height above the valley where they nest can be seen and fortunately for the pgotographers, the hill from which this was shot affords a true birds eye view of the nests. These chicks have not fledged.

Very nice! Good detail and DOF. Small note on composition: If you try the 1/3 rule for composition (crop just a bit from the right side of the picture), I think it will enhance the shape these chicks form. Anyhow... superb shot and my compliments, Arjuna.

as i already enjoyed your great heron shots on TE, it´s wonderful to see them here also.
terrific composition with the 3 chicks sitting in their nest waiting surrounded by a little green from the tree(s) - maybe a not centered
view would even be a little bit better.
