[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Kandy lake in the middle of a busy city, had quite a variety of wild life. This bird (comorant?), sits on a Frangipani tree to clean and dry out his feathers. Frangipani has a wonderful aroma, and perfumes the air. The lake water is a murkey brown or green, is filled with fish, birds, and monitor lizards.

Hi Gloria,

this is a very interesting shot. I would have cropped differently as the entire tree is distracting, but just the part under the bird and some of the water on the right would have made a great pic and would have allowed more detail of the bird to show through. The green foliage on the right bottom takes away from the image as it is distracting.

Good timing on the shot, like the bird's posture.

Hi Gloria,
I agree that it appears to be some type of Comorant, or possibly an Anhinga, if they have them over there. The classic drying out posture. Sounds like a great place to do some nature photography.
