| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
My first tiger shot and up close... it was an honour to stand touch and even have the priviledge of holding his head in my lap..
This was SHOT at the tiger temple in thailand...where you can touch and take pictures with the tiger.
This specific fellow for some strange reason was staring straight at me from the moment i reached the place where they keep the tigers....he was just lying down but kept following me with his eyes as i moved around. this specific pose is when i was looking at him he put his head down synchronizing his movement with the motion of me sitting down...after some time he lost interest in me.
TIGER TEMPLE:
Tiger Temple, or Wat Pha Luang Ta Bua, is a Buddhist temple in Western Thailand which keeps numerous animals, among them several tame tigers that walk around freely once a day and can be petted by tourists.
The Theravada Buddhist temple is located in the Saiyok district of Thailand's Kanchanaburi province, not far from the border with Myanmar, some 38 km north-west of Kanchanaburi along the 323 highway. It was founded in 1994 as a forest temple and sanctuary for numerous wild animals. In 1995, it received the Golden Jubilee Buddha Image, made of 80kg of gold.
THE TIGER TEMPLE CONTROVERSY:
There is big controversy on tiger temple...on how they are treated and are the tigers drugged....etc etc...which can be found on the link below of lonley planet...decide for your self..
