[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I decided to keep this upside down position. To show how this small butterfly feed on this round shaped flower.

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Lepidoptera
Superfamily: Papilionoidea
Family: Lycaenidae
Genus: Nacaduba
Species: N. helicon

The Pointed Line-Blue is a small butterfly which is occasionally common in certain locations within the nature reserves and in some areas near the swampy mangrove outcrops. The males are a deep purple above and unmarked, whilst the females are brown with a hint of bluish-purple at the wing bases. The underside is a dull greyish-brown with white striae. There is an orange crowned black eyespot at the tornal area of the hindwing. The species possesses a fine white-tipped tail.
Males of the Pointed Line-Blue can often be found settled at moist spots on forest tracks. The butterfly has a fast erratic flight, but when disturbed from its feeding ground, it usually returns to the same spot after a while.

It would be difficult for me to distinguish a Nacaduba from another. Thank you very much for the ID and for the excellent picture!
Congratulations and my best wishes, Jitti.

Hello Jitti,
Fine macro of N. helicon seeking nectar in white Buddleja flowers. A fine sharp composition allowing the viewer ejoy seeing both the butterfly and the flower, well emphasized by both the sharpness and contrasting dark BG.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Hi Jitti,

A marvelous capture. You show this butterfly off beautifully in a magnificent composition. Wonderful colors, details, and bg.

Jane

Retaining the upsidedown position in which you shot the butterfly is a good idea, JC. That way, we get to know about the exact behaviour of the subject.
Considering that the butterfly is very small, you have managed an excellent macro of it. I like the colours and patterns on its wings, especially that beautiful eyespot at the rear end.
A beautiful composition, indeed.
TFS.
