I visited the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand in May 2007. At the end of the day, Lek, the amazing Thai woman who started the park for injured and orphaned elephants, came for a visit. Both the elephants and all the dogs at the park came running to see her, and to have a little snack.
