[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I've always liked elephants, with a sad touch to it. Guess you've seen Lord of the Rings - the ents? Same feeling.

This is a Thai elephant looking at me at the Kao Sok National park. They have a camp for retired elephants there, tourist may come to visit them, take a ride and feed them bananas.

I'd like to see them living in the rainforest instead but under the circumstances I guess this kind of life is the best.

Hi Mattias
This looks like a sepia toning, which works well on the skin. There is a bit of digital noise. However, I would crop more on the right and loose all the white on the trunk, placeing the eye on 1/5 of the frame, enhancing the impact of the shot.

I think it's a great shot. Good composition and the maybe a little 'oversharpend' gives it a special touch though.

PS: I visited a similar camp in Thailand. I was releaved to see they were well taken care off. Maybe they do live longer that way. I'd like to believe that....
