[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,

I have not been posting any pictures on TN for nearly 3-4 weeks. In fact, I had not even spent 4 hours in the last few weeks browsing TN. Needless to say that the work has been taking high priority. Today I had to remain awake waiting on some urgent problem to be solved and I thought I could use the time to share some picture.

We have been having regular outings. Hesarghatta has especially been very inviting.

I have been continuously posting pictures of Indian Rollers from Hesarghatta and I have been trying very hard to post something different. As you can see, I could not resist the temptation of sharing this one.

There are two pairs of Indian Rollers at Hesarghatta that have become accustomed to cars. This one especially was so bold that on one occasion we could get as close as 5 feet. My Bigma (50-500) would not even focus as the bird was closer than the minimum focal length.

It was about 10:30 a.m. when I took this picture. The Indian Roller was still yawning. It kept looking for insects and whenever it had time, it was pruning itself. You find it here pruning its wing with half open eyes and perhaps is pleased with itself in the process.

Regards,
Murali Santhanam

Bellissimo momento di cattura, ottimo POV, molto bello il taglio compositivo verticale con il rametto orizzontale, molto buona la nitidezza e bellissimi i particolari della testa, molto belli i colori e BG. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

I find the sight of birds preening themselves very interesting, Murali.
The way your Indian Roller has contorted its body to deal with some body itch is truly fascinating.
Excellent capture, especially of the eye, that suggests great relief and satisfaction.
TFS and regards,
Ram
