I took this photo from a garden. This was a "mischievious" butterfly :) cos, when ever I took my camera to shoot it , it will fly away from that place :) hehe :) , so I couldnt even focus correctly on it ! .Somehow I got this snap, thats all !. Its taken in the macro mode, manual exposure and auto white balance settings, on a bright sunny day around 10 AM.
Sorry, I dont have much Idea abt the exact species and other scientific details of this beautiful insect. Honorable members may kindly provide me with the details, so that I can b able to update . Regards -Neuro_Toxin

Hon:Member Dany13 identified the butterfly as the Common Palmfly. So it was easy for me to collect some info abt the butterfly. Thankyou very much ,Dany13 :)

The Common Palmfly, Elymnias hypermnestra, is found in south Asia. This species presents a precostal cell on the hindwings and a hair tuft of androconial scales on dorsal discal cell of hindwings. This butterfly species is dimorphic, males and females do not look alike. Males exhibit black colored upperside forewings with small blue patches and reddish brown color on upperside hindwings, while the females mimic butterfly species of the genus Danaus.

Caterpillars of this butterfly feed on a wide variety of palms, including coconut and oil palm.
