This photograph was shot in the Lucayan National Park,on Grand Bahama Island. The park is about 25 miles East of the city of Freeport, placing it near the middle of the island. This is one of many wild variants of Morning Glory. The vine produces beautiful shades on its flowers, even the ones that grow in the shaded forest. I arrived at the park about the same time Tropical Storm Franklin was brewing up on the East end of the island. I had hiked into the forrest about a mile when the rain started, forcing me to turn back.

I took this shot hand held, with no fill flash. The clouds had made the forest pretty dark. Thank you image stabalization. I love the colors in the water droplets on the flower.

Hi Scott,
Very beautiful capture. The idea was excellent to catch this flower with the water drops which bead on its petals. The rendering is striking.
TFS, cordially,

Ahhhh, Bahamas ;-) Must be great destination for holidays Scott! I like this picture - composition is simply and clear, blue colour looks superb. Green leaf on BG and water droplets on flower make this photo.

Scott I love these flowers, and you have captured the colours so well. The water drops are a big bonus. I think I would have cropped off most of the top on the photo and made it more square. But that is only my opinion. It's a good shot. well done.

Hello Scott!

Hi Scott,

POV:4
DOF:4
Composition:4
Details:4, waterdroplets are great
Exposure:3, a little too dark for my liking
Colors:4, purple tones are great

Scale 1-5, 5 is the best.

Regards,
Pieter

I like the contrasting subject from the Bg which creates a nice effect. The capture is sharp but I think you might have considered another composition. The placement of the main subject at the bottom leave to much empty spave at the top.

Hello Scott, I like this for its soft colors and light, water droplets, photo quality and the POV taking the eye down into the center of "Glory"...I might not have composed it this way but we need to remember it's an entirely subjective thing, and the artist always maintains the right to "creative license". I like it, Well done!

Nice work Scott, I am impressed by the clearness of the water dropplets and the transparent pink color that is reflecting.
The pistol area shines like a light bulb!
Very fine detail and great composition. Looks like you have good handle on that new lens! Your passion for photography shines with this picture.
Scott

Wow Scott I love this shot, the water drops take on an almost neon glow to them, and of course my favorite color is purple after all so how could I not love this flower? I love the star shape to it also and the lighting seems perfect to me. I need to learn more about this "image stabalization" thing soon! Thanks for sharing this lovely image.

Scott, this is beautiful, very beautiful.

Congratulations.

I do enjoy composition, sharpness and pov.

The blurred and rather dark bg highlights the beauty of the flower.

A pleasure to check.

Hi Scott, nice image, great colours, good depth and real sharp. I would have cropped out the top 1/3 of the frame and reduced the distraction from the leaf. Perhaps a little PP blur on the branch would enhance the image. Fine work, regards Rob

Hi Scott, I have no time to write a decent comment. I give to you the well deserved smily.

Day thought:

Thank you for sharing pictures and notes and for the enjoyment which they give to me.

Spectacular colors, almost surreal! How silly were you hiking at the beginning of a tropical storm? I'm glad for us you did since you got this beautiful shot. Nice focus and DOF.

Alli

I very much like this composition, flower, and water droplets, Scott.

Excellent details, colors, POV, lighting and BG.

It is mesmerizing once you look at it for a bit, and sooooo lovely.

Thank you for sharing it with us.

Hello Scott,
the color of this morning glory is amazing, the pink tones and the water drops almost glow. Good background color.
Extremely good sharpness.

Nice shot. wow, great colors. It almost looks like the water on the flower is radioactive ;-)
