[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Pine Mountain Lodge had a small bird feeder and it attracted a few species each morning when scarps were put out before breakfast. This is a Green Jay (Cyanocorax yncas), a beautiful medium sized bird 29 cm (11 in) in length. They are found in open woodland through eastern Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and Honduras. A separate subspecies is also found through the mountains of northern South America. They are omnivores and live in small family groups.

This one was taken through a fly-screen window, so I know the quality is not great, but they are a beautiful species.

Hi Chris,
A beautiful bird indeed! I don't believe I have seen this kind of jay before.
The colors are exquisite, and the pose gives a good presentation of the bird as a whole, but particularly the stunning patterns in its head.

Hello Chris,
Belize, Pine Mountain... takes me back 30 years. Now the photo. The colours and composition are wonderful. The BG is rather busy and there just seems something undefinable about the texture in a couple of places; the bright branches in the lower foreground and on the right at the back. I must go back to Belize again.

Hello Chris.

Unbelievable photography from that small bird. I appreciate greatly the luminousness from the colors and, also, the position from the bird on the branches from the tree : very dynamic composition. Very good sharpness, all along of the main subject. Neutral background putting on top the bird.
Only a very, very small thing : on the right top, there is a leaf, which catches our attention and disturbs us from paying attention to the bird.

Thank you for the share.

See you soon on treknature for other pictures.

All the best.

Philippe.

amazing bird, pity the pic is blurry, TFS Ori
