[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I found this male Hepatic Tanager (Piranga flava) with a damaged crown at 1,000 foot falls on Mountain Pine Ridge. This tanager has three subspecies, with only the northern one, being migratory. Some authorities have split them in three species. The northern form is found in pine-oak forest in southwestern United States and migrates south into Central America during the winter. The female is olive green. They area a medium sized bird of 20 cm (8 in) and are mostly found in the canopy and middle canopy of their pine-oak habitat where they hunt for insects.

Very good and the description offered.
Have a beautiful weekend,

Hi Chris,
I love the pose and the diagonal presentation. I do think that the photo is a bit dark and greyish. Did you adjust your levels to get the white and black points?
TFS,
Niek

Hola Chris.

Hello Chris.

What a charming bird, with so glamorous eyes. It is a lovable photography, with a very dynamic composition in diagonal ascending. I appreciate greatly. Very good sharpness and many details. Interesting game with the light in the darkness: well done with it. It gives us a perception of a softness and peace. And, after all, the birds are not every times in the full sunshine.

Thank you for the share.

See you soon on treknature for other pictures.

All the best.

Philippe.
