Seahorse
Hippocampus erectus
Family: Pipefish & Seahorse - Syngnathidae

This fish is very shy and difficult to find. Usually it stays hanging any coral or other sea structure with its tail. We found this diving the Lighthouse Atoll, Belize. Lucky we was, because it is small, usually stay quiet and use its camouflage. Could you think how nice is to find it diving the ocean? I use the 35mm with the close up outfit, and the seahorse was giant for its specimen!

full marks to the nikonos and the flash setting
i take it you had the flash on a bar overhead..giving this nice and natural lighting without too many shadows...
how is focussing done underwater

Hi Jose,
An excellent shot on this Seahorse. Very colorful, but he would blend into that colorful reef very well. Detail is very good. A difficult shot that you handled very well.

Amazing creature, Jose. Colorful like all coral reefs inhabitants are, yet so strongly adapted to blend into the surrounding. One must have some experience on this field to be able to notice them and "capture" them with a camera.
