[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a female Cloudless Sulphur (Phoebis sennae) from the Family: Pieridae. Males often don’t have the blotches on the forewings and are a much brighter yellow. They are found from USA, through Central America and Carribean island south to Argentina in South America.
Their preferred habitat is open woodlands near water and we only saw them here in Palo Verde and near the Tacoles River.
They have a wingspan of up to 70mm and in cooler parts of their range adults have been known to hibernate through winter. There is also a migration of adults from the tropics into the more temperate regions of both North and South America during their respective spring seasons. Food plants include cassia and clover and other plants from the Fabaceae family.

Hello Chris,

Very nice composition. Excellent POV, DOF and sharpness. Very good contrast of the bright butterfly in the sun against the shadowy areas in the background. Great colours.
Cheers,
Mariki

Hi Chris,
Wonderful shot of this beautiful butterfly with such bright colours and sharp markings on its wings. Superb light and exposure levels. It is such a pity about that shade on the tip of its wings, however it doesn't take away its beauty and the image looks majestic. The BG illustrates the habitat well. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.
TFS.

Cloudless Sulphur is a distinct butterfly in its genus, Chris, and you have shown us a very good specimen from South America.
The view of the outer wing with markings on them is quite sharp and detailed.
Thanks for sharing it and regards.

Hola Chris.
Otra muy bella foto de esta hermosa Mariposa en color amarillo limon. Dada la calidad de la foto se aprecian con finura sus delicados detalles en sus alas. Gran macro Chirs.
Saludos Mi buen amigo.
