Hoffmann's Woodpecker

I found this little birdie hopping and climbing on the trees in Puntarenas the town that I live. I took the picture throught the swarovski scope. In the moment that I took this shot the female was around too, they were looking for some insects on the bark of the Tropical Almond trees.

This specie is really commmon to see in Puntarenas, besides are so loudly from the distances.

Great capture of this exotic woodpecher Michael.
Nice subtle colours and good exposure.
It looks a little clearer on the back than on the head,so I guess you had your AF mode set to a wider field rather than a spot mode?
A very good imge of an interesting bird.

Hello Michael,
I'm always interested in special birds. This is one. Good colours and sharpness. The head is a bit out of focus. But a remarkable photo.
