Hello Chris,
Costa Rica harbours numerous beautiful insects and butterflies of which you introduce to us this
small checkerspot in a professional way. The specimen perfectly stands out and is shown well focused
and with pretty good sharpness. Colours and light are pleasant and the background is smooth, noise-less and non-distracting.

Hi Chris

A lovely specimen and a wonderful capture of this Theona Checkerspot.

The excellent isolation from the BG makes the butterfly stand out in the shot. The beautiful detail on the insect is just great and it shows those interesting patterns just fine. The diagonal positioning of the subject works well for the composition.

The "+++" : diagonal composition, lovely species, POV, sharpness, DOF, blurred BG, exposure, warm colors, useful complementary note...

Sorry for missing out on such wonderful posts from you. I still cannot fathom how. Your recent posts of mushrooms are all great but I select this beautiful butterfly to critique today. So charming and gorgeous it looks and so nicely you have portrayed it. Very impressive sharpness, colours and markings on its wings. Great illumination too and a precise DOF. Excellent POV and a marvellous diagonal composition. Kudos.
