Going for a jungle walk at Tortuguero National Park we chanced upon this little creature under a leaf having it's daytime nap.

Hi Gil,
This is a nice picture catching a bat like that!
I believe the marks on the leaf are actually bite marks from the bats - they bite the leaf so it folds down and creats a roof shape...

Wow!
Strange beast I must say! The colors that make up this image are excellent! Interesting composition, DOF and POV!

I just noticed at the top of the image where the leaf folds it is out of focus making the viewer look at the bat. Very good!

Hi Gil,
I just took a little tour of your gallery and am amazed (and totally envious) at all the places you have been. : )
This is a great shot of that little bat. A fantastic POV, sharp details, and good light.
I went to Tortuguero also and loved it. Saw some tortoises laying their eggs at night (Alas, pictures not permitted!), but did not have the privilege of seeing any bats.
