| There are a lot of snake species in Costa Rica, 30 or so of which are venemous...like this guy. One way to distinguish between the poisonous and nonpoisonous is to get close enough to count the holes in the snake's snout. If there are only two, it's nonpoisonous (with an occasional exception...ha) ...if there are four, then it is! Problem is, you gotta get pretty close to count! |
