[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I believe this is a Monarch butterfly. I got 3 shots of it on different flowers, it was hard to decide which angle was the best one to post. I hope I did a good job in choosing it.. I might even post the one with the other flowers... :)

Hi Claudia , and a belated welcome to Trek Nature :-) , I took a bit of time to visit your gallery , you have some fine images there.

I think you chose a good point of view , and your photo has good color and composition , but I am wondering at why such a small size on this one ...

thanks for sharing , and look forward to many more :-)

regards
Art

Hi Claudia,

I always like colorful butterfly pictures such as yours. It would be nicer, from my point of view, to be able to see a little bit more of the butterfly. But, I know, as a butterfly photographer also, that you take whatever vantage point you can get. I have taken many photos of Monarchs. And, your photo definitely isn't one of them. I know, it's very confusing trying to identify butterflies. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that your photo is of a Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) butterfly. I have never seen one of those. Nice work!

Regards,
John
