[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
White Peacocks (Anartia jatrophae) are true brush-foot butterflies.
Brush-foot butterflies (Nymphalinae) appear to have only four legs because their front legs are very small and non functional.
A tropical butterfly,it is found in open areas near to water. This one was beside the lake on the Playa Dorada golf course.
They sip flower nectar and are attracted to Spanish needles in particular.

Adult butterflies have a wingspan of 2-2.3". They are darker in the summer.

White hyssop, matchheads, and wild petunias serve as hostplants. Pale yellow eggs are laid singly near the hostplant or on the underside of the hostplant's leaves. The caterpillars are black with silver or white dots and many spines. The chrysalis is light green with small black dots.

Excelent shot and composition.
There are some "cooked," spots.
Underexposing the subject and then adjusting the levels in photoshop or similar would have helped the overexposure, which appears to be high time of the day.

Andy, Excellent detail & sharpness. I like the light that comes through the wings, showing them off so well. Just a bit over on the back-end is all. Well done!

Excellent capture Andy and very well done on the iD. I love the composition and the way the sunlight filters through the wings. Excellent work.

Excellent macro Andy, love the light coming through the wing...great shot.

Very good image, Andy. Great DOF, beautiful colors. I agree with the others about the overexposure, but the butterfly was rightly exposed in my opinion. Thanks for sharing.

I love the way the light comes thru the translucent wings, showing off the patterns on the wings with great clarity. The colors on this butterfly are very subtle and pleasing. Good composition with the slight diagonal of the leaf!

The backlight adds a nice effect here, Andy. Very nice POV and pose. A lovely subject. Very well done.

Andy, vivid colors and very nice composition.

Dealing with exposure in these conditions, I do know, is very difficult. Even though, you did a great job.

WOW Andy, I lost your last five, and I had a good time watching them all. Very nice composition, but specially like the lighting in this one. The wing is pure art. Regards, Felipe.
