On the way to visit Maya pyramids in Tikal National Park, I spotted this perfect leaf imprint on a wet pathway. From the foot traffic and the rains of the surrounding jungle, I am sure that it will never be fossilized except in my photo.
Original pixel dimensions preserved by copying the original photo into a new file sized to the TN limit. |

Hi Lowell, I'm a big fan of fossils of any kind. You caught this leaf nicely. The red colour of the fossil is unusual. I wonder how old it is? Janice
