Snowy Egret at Sea
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is a Snowy Egret, otherwise known sometimes as White Gaulin, and formally Egretta thula. Member of the heron family. Quite common in Jamaica and often as with most herons, around water.
I had been taking pictures of it wading and it took off, so then it was a challenge to my new Nikon D300 and zoom lens to capture it in flight. |

Very interesting image. Well composed and nicely caught. Catching the surf with the flying egret was well done. TFS
