| Well, staying true to my calls, nevermind the calm Caribean and kicked back Jamaica, I always look for some trouble and this time was jumping off the boat to go swimming with crocodiles, I mean it, swear! I swam with 100 yards away from the croc sighting, as my guide gave me the OK and I saw guys spearfishinging and be just fine in the swamp. I know it sounds horrible but its not that bad, really, I was almost sad that crocs in Jamaica have no juice or taste for humans, they do not attack people, regardless they can get easily to fifteen feet in length, one in the pic is probably just under that size, in meters I would say about just over two meters. This is again taking place in western Jamaica, in a largest wetland in the Caribean islands called the Great Morass, more precisely at the cross of YS and the Black River. |

Hi Radu
Nice dangerous monster and a very nice story.
Great Jamaica vacation :-)
Best wishes
Krzysztof
Lol, I guess that this it'll never be too close except for bears :) I would not have done it, believe me even if they don't have taste for human... I like this picture a lot with excellent low POV, beautiful details and colors on the water. I wish I can visit Jamaica someday but not during the hurricane season, I'm too old for this stuff now ;) Thanks,
Claudine
Yeah ... people always assume all crocs/sharks etc are dangerous.
I swam real close to a lot of sharks when I was a kid on Niue back in the 60s and 70s.
This is a cool shot though.
Beautiful clarity and colour in the ripples etc.
Nice work.
Steve
Maybe Radu is the next croc hunter, great close up shot of this prehistoric looking beast. Looks like you had a great time in the Caribean. :)
