Hi Chris, i actually think the light was in a great postion. It's given you that wonderful backlight through the Rose coloured feathers and contrasted agains the blue sky makes for quite a striking shot. Nice sharp focus and composition.

I think the light source play an important role in bringing out the unique pattern of the wing despite the not so sharp DOF from the head. Nice and wonderful shot indeed.

A fine, in-flight capture of this spoonbill with perfectly back-lighted wings Chris, the sharply in-focus image's colours are beautifully reproduced here, against the azure blue of the contrasting sky. TFS indeed!

You are totally right about the light Chris.
Not the best of to show each and every detail on the belly, neck and bill of the bird, but great to show all very beautiful details in the pink feathers of the wings.
Sharpness and composition are very good.
Contrast between the deep blue sky color and the beautiful pink of the feathers is great.

The light showing thru the wings is fantastic. The different shades of pink are magnificent. You caught this Spoonbill in flight very well. Quite a sight against the nice blue sky.

Chris,
Such a beautiful image of this spoonbill in flight. The backlight is great, it's challenging to photograph, but you did it so well, it actually works for you instead of against you.
It illuminated and brightened up the color of the feathers. Great sharpness and clarity, Colors and light are well balance, adequate saturation and contrast. Composition is just perfect. Love it.

Hi Chris,
Outstanding in-flight shot and I like the glowing colours on the plumage due to skilfull use of backlighting. Very impressive sharpness and a fine pose captured with a fine DOF and a well chosen POV. The blue sky acts as a fantastic BG and which contrasts well with the pink Spoonbill. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hello Chris,
A really beautiful in-flight of a Roseate Spoonbill. The lighting makes the pink glow against the blue sky and I like the wing position and composition and the spoonbill show up with good sharpness.

You cant plan the light and the bird flying at the right time..I persoanlly like the light a lot here..It has given superb illuminated feather detail with the wonderful colours..its a great inflight in my honest opinion.
