A sunrise shot off the beach where I was staying at the Westin resort on Grand Bahama Island. I just can not pass these shots up. The red and green lights on the poles in the water mark the entrance to the inland water way that divides the island in half. I love to sit and watch the changing colors and hues of sunrises and sunsets.

Here is some information on the Bahamas, and Grand Bahama Island

The Islands Of The Bahamas is a 100,000-sq-mile
archipelago that extends over 500 miles of the clearest water in the world. Our 700 islands, including uninhabited cays and large rocks, total an estimated land area of 5,382 sq miles, and register a highest land elevation of 206 ft.

Grand Bahama Island, the fourth largest of The Islands of The Bahamas, gets its name from the Spanish "gran bajamar" – meaning "great shallows" – for its many flats and shoals in the waters off the island. The island is 96 miles long East to West, and 17 miles wide North to South at its widest point. The highesr elevation on the island is only 68 feet above sea level.

Grand Bahama Island took a direct hit from hurricanes Jeanne, and Frances, last year. In the nice resort areas the damage and landscape are repaired. On alot of the island, the damage is still very visable. I will post a few photos of that soon.

Hi Scott, so you did get to the Bahamas - I wondered if they might have sent you to NZ after all that mix-up with your tickets.
I love the colours here, so pretty and colourful. And look at the pink rays pointing to the heavens from the centre. That is a superb capture. The reflections of the sky on the waters are great too. Well done.
I look forward to seeeing more of your photos from the Bahamas too.
Good info to read as well, thank you.

Hello Scott!
Great capture and technic.Large DOF and blurred water, lighting, colourful sky, framing and composition are excellent. Thanks for sharing this beauty...:-)

Hello Scott

The pink rays are like a leading light to Paradise. The POV is good where the rocks are silhoutted. I think cropping some from the top would enhance the shot. I realise the navigation lights on the pole are a reality, but IMO they stand out and your eyes are drawn to them. The colours are unbelieveable. What a sight to awaken to. I have uploaded a workshop where I have cropped some from the top and cloned out the nav lights. Look forward to more Scott. Thanks.

Scott, the "seascape/landscape" man, so here we have another beautiful one.

Excellent colors; I do enjoy composition and pov. Not too dark, not too bright: perfect.

Great picture.

This scene is breathtaking Scott, I love the colors, especially the pink streaks running towards the top right of the photo. The rocky land in the background is lovely as is the part in the foreground. The navigation lights I think enhance the photo too, so I'd have left them also. I also love the dark clouds and the deep blue color at the top. I never tire of seeing beautiful sunset/rise photos! TFS, well done.

Beautiful colurs and great effect from motion blur Scott. I would have giving a little more foreground interest and less sky. 5/10 well done.

Still busy trying to catch up on my long overdue backlog so I am still visiting some of your earlier postings to deliver a couple of well deserved smiley’s.
Wow, I like this one with the rays of light filling the early morning deep blue sky. What an exquisite scene and a perfect capture of it. The slow shutter speed had a lovely smoothing effect on the water surface giving the photo even more appeal. Pure brilliance.
Great work and TFS.

Loot
