Splendida immagine, Peter!
Ciao,
Marcello

Hello Peter,
Nice composition, but it is so sad for this butterfly. This one seems even not too old. Its wings are in very good state.
Cheers,
Mariki

Dear Peter
It is long since I had the opportunity to critique one of your postings. This is another winner indeed. From what I read from your notes, it seems as if this one was waiting especially for you. First-class photography. Terrific colours, good detail, outstanding capture. This in a splendid image. Matchless photography. Thanks for sharing, it is much appreciated.
Warmest regards
Aaltjie
Hallo Peter,
Anne

Hi Peter
I think i understand your title here. But it's only nature's way...something beautiful perished for something beautifully adapted to survive...at least that's how i like to look at it.
Your photo here is terrific and only from close inspection one can see the spider.
None-the-less, in his last moments, this butterfly looked wonderful, with charming colors, presented here with very fine details.
Your POV complements the title, too, indicating the place where he would go - towards that beautiful blue sky in the BG.
Great work!
Bravo and TFS

Hi, dear Peter.
I like your poetic note so much as well as amazing butterfly shot. The subject is surprising. Charming curve of the stem with fine flower and beautiful butterfly create fantastic by pleasantness composition. DOF is great. All subject is in focus, perfectly sharpened and detailed. Cloudy, well illuminated sky serves as a wonderful BG. The antennas of the butterfly, their direction are looked funny. Superb shot. Bravo.
Alexei.
P.S. I have posted removed picture as a WS to my last post. Your comments to it are terrific. Thank you so much.

I see this beauty is pointing the way Peter..
You don't want to miss that train!
Whenever possible, I think grabbing some sky is the way to go when shooting b-flies..The faster s-speed it gives helps to provide the sharpest image, and looking up is always a very good message :)
Have a great weekend,

Hello Peter,
You spotted this very well and at first sight the butterfly certainly looks quite sound but the drooping antennae makes one suspect all is not well! Excellent sharp details and beautiful colours. A fine composition too.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Peter,
Herzlichen Dank!
Mit Freundlichen Gruessen,
Eddie
The position of the antennas tells about something unusual about the way it's enjoying the sunny day: the eternal rest!
A really beautiful food, fresh meal for the spider!

Hallo Peter !
Valerie.

Wow! I just saw this photo compared with its companion photo, "To Heaven II". What a shocking revelation to see the other side of this two-part story! I'll comment on the other photo in that post. For this one, I'll forget the tragedy and simply comment on what I like here -- the colors are rich, with a blend of vibrant and soft tones in all the right places. Shadow and highlight details are good -- nothing is too dark or too bright. Excellent clarity -- everything is so well in focus.
TFS
