Hello TrekNature!
This time I want to show you this male of the Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) which I found here in Vienna during my staying in this winter.
A few words about this species:
Probably the best-known and most recognizable of all ducks the Mallard is a dabbling duck and it has a strong sexual dimorphism. This picture presents a breeding adult male. The breeding male is unmistakable, with a green head, black rear end and a yellow bill tipped with black (as opposed to the dark brown bill in females). The female Mallard is light brown, like most female dabbling ducks.
The Mallard inhabits most wetlands, including parks, small ponds and rivers, and usually feeds by dabbling for plant food or grazing.
That's all for today :)
Have a nice weekend!
Greetings,
Luca |

Hi Dehelean,
the duck is beautiful with lovely colours.
The sharpness are pretty good with fine details.
The reflection is a nice bonus, it's pity we can't see the whole.
Well done.
